ISMD is the real-time strong motion database of INGV since 2012. The web portal was designed and built in 2011 in cooperation between INGV Milan department and the National Earthquake Center, CNT (nowadays ONT). In the institutional context, the ISMD project represented a shared path to arrive at the regularization and homogeneity of the collection, treatment and distribution of the INGV accelerometric data. For each earthquake with epicenter located on the national territory with local magnitude (ML) ≥ 3.0 ISMD provides the immediate publication of the accelerometric data and related waveforms metadata, together with detailed geological, morphological and geophysical information aimed at the correct characterization of the registration sites. Over the years, ISMD has significantly increased the number of analysed accelerometric stations, moving from INGV and MedNet stations (managed by INGV) to all accelerometric networks present on the national territory and belonging to other public organizations in agreement for data exchange with INGV (e.g. OGS, autonomous province of Trento, University of Genoa, AMRA foundation, DPC). Peculiarity that has always distinguished ISMD compared to other accelerometric databases is the real-time analysis of all the data acquired by the stations installed for emergencies by the Sismiko and Emersito operating groups (e.g. Mirandola 2012, Amatrice 2016, Ischia 2017 , Molise 2018).
